Season 2 of the sweeping period drama premieres exclusively on Acorn TV on April 6 (US only). This addictive family saga has been called the “Down Under ‘Downton’” (DFW.com) and hailed as “instantly irresistible” by the Wall Street Journal.

Set during the 1950s, A Place to Call Home follows the fortunes of Sarah Adams (Marta Dusseldorp, Jack Irish), a nurse returning to Australia after spending 20 years in Europe. Sarah emerged from the horrors of World War II as a thoroughly modern woman—strong, principled, and defiant. On her journey home, she catches the eye of the dashing and wealthy George Bligh. Bligh’s aristocratic mother (played with imperious precision by Noni Hazelhurst) is not impressed with the enigmatic Sarah.

Rejected by her own mother, Sarah finds herself drawn into the world of Ash Park, the Bligh family’s grand estate. As her relationship with George deepens, Sarah’s mysterious past is slowly revealed. She isn’t the only one with a secret: other members of the Bligh family grapple with their own clandestine passions.
